Alfie’s rehoming story

Alfie is our third rescue Pointer and our second from Pointers in Need. When we first saw the photos of him, we were so shocked at how thin he was and knew that we had to help him. Alfie (who at the time didn’t have a name), was being looked after by a foster family in Greece. We didn’t know much about his background only that he had been found abandoned up a mountain and was covered in cuts and scars.

From the very beginning the help and advice we received from PIN was amazing. Claire and her expert team are so supportive and knowledgeable, and made the whole adoption process so easy. Alfie’s foster carers kept us up to date with videos and photos of him as we had to wait a while for him to travel to the UK.

When he arrived, we immediately knew that Alfie was very special. He is such a docile boy, so gentle, playful, loving and gets on so well with his sisters. He loves his walks and enjoys nothing more than running in big open spaces, chasing birds and running through the undergrowth in the woods. He loves to cuddle with us on the sofa and sunbathe in the garden. He has settled in so well with us all and it feels like our Pointer family is now complete.
