Leo - Pointers in Need

About Pointer Leo

Sex: Male        Age: 5 years

Leo is currently in Turkey, is 5 years old and has been neutered

Leo was found as a stray living around sandwich shops and cafes, trying to feed himself with help from the staff.  Leo is overweight as he was living on bread and sausages so his diet will need to be managed.

Leo is a typical active pointer, he is very soft with a good temperament to humans including children,  He is good with other dogs but would not be suited to a home with cats.  Leo is good on a lead, in the car, loves walking and curious about everything.  Leo does have a prey drive as he likes chasing cats and birds.  Leo did not know anything about contact with humans and how to play with other dogs but he watched how other dogs played ball and he started to get involve playing and catching balls. He is much better now at communicating with humans and having cuddles.

Leo needs a special diet to lose some weight. He has no aggression and not protective around food.  Leo could be a first or second dog as long as the other dog is not too hyper around him.

Leo has a limp on his back legs and one is shorter then the other, this is due to an old break, he also has some pellets in his body.  Leo has been assessed and due to the age of the injury, the vet does not feel that the stress and discomfort of an operation would benefit Leo but has suggested to use glucosamine to make him feel comfy.  Leo is now looking for his forever home.

Leo will come with the full back up support of the wonderful Pointers In Need team.
