Lucca (aka Lucky) was adopted by Carolyn Byles, who has provided this fantastic update about his progress:
Lucca is doing well. He has settled in with me and has surpassed all expectations – he is as good as gold in the house – happy, playful and with bags of character!
He is an amiable chap who loves other dogs and so far, they all seem to love him so he has a growing circle of four legged friends. He came to me extremely nervous of strangers and I initially thought it would take many months before this would lessen. But in the last couple of weeks in particular, Lucca has begun to show great improvement and is gaining confidence faster than I expected.
“The past two months have been challenging but so rewarding and I now have a delightful little Pointer who I could not imagine living without.” Said Carolyn. “We still have some hurdles to overcome and I’m not sure that I will ever achieve perfect recall – rabbits and low flying swallows are just too much of a temptation! None of us are perfect!”
While typing I can hear him hurtling around upstairs I think probably chasing flies which are his other passion. Oh.. and another aim is how to get at the fat balls on the bird table.
Carolyn added a final comment: “Thank you Pointers in Need for letting me have Lucca lodge with me I look forward to many years with a lovely companion who is universally liked by all who meet him.”

There are so many Pointers that need homes and many more still that are waiting in the wings to come onto our books.
