Lucy - Pointers in Need

About Pointer Lucy

Sex: Female        Age: 10 years

Lucy is in Andover and is 10 years old

Lucy has been with us in her foster home for around 6 weeks now and in that time, she has proved to be one of the gentlest, kindest dogs we have met.  Lucy loves a cuddle and will curl up next to you quite happily. She is friendly with all dogs she has met and has been great around kids although she has only been around children over the age of 8.

Lucy takes treats gently and takes time eating her food so if other dogs are around you will need to make sure they don’t eat her share.  Her character has started to show more recently, she has a playful side to her, and she enjoys running around with toys and playing with our other dogs.  One thing Lucy does do is when she is excited, she may try to grab your hands, clothes, legs accidently nipping. We are working on this.

Lucy has little in the way of road skills, her lead training and obedience is ongoing, she must be always kept on a lead when out.  Lucy is very prey driven, she will either suddenly launch if she sees a bird or squirrel or stop and ‘point’ before launching, we recommend a home with no cats, small animals or birds.

We believe she was born with a crumpled ear which must be cleaned at least three times a week. Lucy has enlarged dropped nipples that need to be kept an eye on for any injuries she may sustain, otherwise these do not cause Lucy any problems.  Lucy has a medical condition requiring daily medication, this will be discussed with any potential adopter.

Since being with us, Lucy has been clean and asks to go out when she needs to go to the toilet.  She is a delight to have within the house.  Lucy is now looking for her forever home.

Please contact us if you can give Lucy a new loving, forever home very soon.

Lucy will come with 5 weeks FREE insurance and the full back up support of the wonderful Pointers In Need team.
