Oscar - Pointers In Need

About Pointer Oscar

Sex: Male       Age: around 2 years old

A description of Oscar from his foster Holly Barden in Kos.

“In the winter I found one male, orange and white Pointer on the side of the road. He was in very bad condition skinny and full of parasites and I could not leave him my heart was breaking. I have a soft spot for the Pointers here on this island as they do not take good care of them. I have him at my home he’s perfect – just very excitable.

Oscar will need some training, but he is the most loving and wonderful dog. He adores human company and isn’t afraid of people or busy situations. Oscar travels well in the car – we take him to the beach and to the mountains. He never runs away and knows when to come when called but sometimes he’s too busy sniffing. He has always returned – he’s never far away.

I am sure he has been trained for hunting as when Oscar is off the lead you can see this in his behaviour.

Oscar is perfect with cats and surprisingly for a Pointer, he does not chase or kill chickens!! When I’m at work, he lives outside on a very long running chain and when I’m home, he comes inside.

I feel Oscar deserves a proper home with someone that can give him time and training that I can not give him. He is house trained and sleeps in his bed with my other dog all night without waking up.

Oscar is neutered and fully vaccinated, including against rabies. He’s also been treated for parasites.

Oscar’s only down fall is that he gets bored easily and chews things – he’s chewed some blankets and a pair of flip flops!!
