Pointer Walk and Tea.

Liz and I would like to say a huge ‘THANK YOU’ to all who came to the Pointers In Need walk and tea.  Thanks to the support we received, an amazing £760.50 was raised.

The weather was on our side, just perfect for the dogs to have fun running around and for us to enjoy tea, sitting in the sunshine. 43 dogs all enjoying themselves playing and running together while the Pointer folk enjoyed meeting like minded Pointer lovers. Many thanks to Liz for the super selection of sandwiches, Lynne for the fabulous cakes and scones and yes that Pointers In Need cake not only looked fantastic but tasted great, Lou and Liz Cook too for their contribution to the delicious cakes on offer.

I would also like to thank friends who quietly worked behind the scenes making everything run like clockwork, Sue and Lou keeping the kitchen going, Julia our official photographer for the day and Lesley for keeping the woodland neat and tidy over the last few weeks. Also Martin for helping with the parking and my lovely hubby Brian, who always gets stuck in to make everything look so neat and tidy here and help set everything up.

The dogs all enjoyed a fabulous run around for an hour or so, before we came in for tea. The raffle went very well and quickly, thank you to those that donated prizes.  All of this was followed with the auction of Jim Ovel’s fabulous painting and what a brilliant job Rob Cazzell did as an auctioneer, bidding was great fun and both paintings went for fabulous prices.  Thank you so much to both Shirley Cardiff and Peter Cook for your generous bids, you beat everyone else to secure them, (sorry Felicity!!), we hope you enjoy them.

The dogs then enjoyed another run around together, 43 dogs and not a grumble amongst them, it just shows what fab temperaments our lovely breed has.  By the messages left on the Tea Page, you all enjoyed yourselves and we have made a great amount for those Pointers, not yet lucky enough to have found a sofa and loving forever home.  Hopefully this will help towards a new start for some. THANK YOU ALL.

There are so many Pointers that need homes and many more still that are waiting in the wings to come onto our books.
