PointerFest - Pointers In Need

PointerFest 2017 was a huge success for Pointers !

The Pointers in Need (PIN) team, together with our beloved Pointers, were at Pointerfest 2017 on 29th July 2017 – along with many other Pointers and raised around £3000 in total (final amount to be confirmed). Overall this fantastic event raised a whopping £5000 which will go directly to helping Pointers.

The Pointerfest team were utterly delighted with the massive attendance for Pointerfest 2017. Each year we seem to grow a little bit more and this is due to the tremendous support we get from the pointer (and honorary pointer!) community and our associated groups. People came from far and wide – the Isle of Man and the Isle of Mull to name but a few – and I think the overall feeling on the day was a very real sense of fun and friendship in an environment where people felt secure and their dogs could run free and enjoy themselves. In its 3rd year, Pointerfest is already becoming the doggie destination where people can meet, connect, have fun and catch up with old friends; this was always our driving motivation and it was great to see so many familiar faces. We really want this event to have continued success and be able to show some tangible results from the money donated so we will be working closely with our groups to update everyone on how much we raised and what those valuable funds will be used for. Finally a huge thank you to each and every person that attended, helped organised, donated and visited both our web and Facebook pages. Let’s keep spreading the message and together I am sure we will achieve more and more each year. The Millennium Dome is booked for 2025 (just kidding)!” The Pointerfest Team (Jon Abbott, Liz Fleming, Kerry Fitzgerald, James Doxey, Lee Maloney and more)

PointerFest - Pointers In Need

The Pointers In Need stall with the distinctive blue bunting, supported with banners sponsored by Ledgands, was well stocked with branded PIN goodies including our popular t-shirts and hoodies, exclusive ‘Bob the Pointer’ mugs, badges, keyrings, and an array of beautiful Pointer greetings cards designed especially for us.

Pointers In Need founder and treasurer Claire Stokes commented “Pointerfest was most certainly a day to remember, fantastically supported by so many caring, loving and kind people and friends! We saw many of our rescued and rehomed Pointers and the reward from seeing them so so happy with their new owners is just the best sight in the world. I want to say a huge huge thank you for everyone that attended, everyone that visited our stall and introduced themselves to us, and all the Pointers that popped by for a cuddle and a biscuit. On behalf of myself and my wonderful team we had the best day! See you all next year……xxx“.

Pointers In Need presented a good show of rescued and fostered Pointers including Bob, Jack, George, Lena, Jem, Solana, Smiler, Hope and Pearl but to name a few. Seeing these Pointers having such good time is what Pointerfest is all about.

Pointers In Need received several potential rehoming enquiries at Pointerfest. Claire Stokes and Andrew Everett sponsored and judged two fun classes. As well as buying goodies from the Pointers In Need stand, many people demonstrated huge generosity by donating their change. WOW you are all too kind! Thank you so much.

A wonderful day! It was great to see so many Pointers having a great day. It was also fab to catch up on a number of rehomed dogs and to meet their adopters.   We were overwhelmed with the support we had on the day; our stand was non stop throughout the whole event. Thank you to everyone who supported and the Pointerfest team for putting on a great day.” Commented Andrew Everett, Secretary of Pointers In Need.
