Pointers In Need

Here we are, Pointers In Need, at the end of year one. After taking, what felt like quite a big step into launching Pointers In Need, we have surpassed all expectations. Throughout this past year, with your fantastic help and support, Pointers In Need has rescued and re-homed a total of 72 Pointers. Plus through the magnificent fundraising efforts of so many, we have been able to help other Pointers financially along the way.

We have been able to rescue and re-home our beloved breed both in Europe and the UK and have also given our support to overseas organisations who have needed help in emergency situations. This could not happen without a fantastic volunteer team who work day in and day out in various capacities, each one having to fit around their day job.

Just twelve months ago we started with a zero balance, our love for the breed and with just our knowledge! After a day or so of launching we received a financial boost from a very generous and huge hearted benefactor and so this enabled us to get off to a flying start.

As a organisation we strive for transparency, to be honest and to work alongside each other the best we can, sharing knowledge and getting the best and doing our best for all involved. We have worked very hard in getting a presence on the big wide web, including our wonderfully designed website and through Facebook we certainly can share many Pointers with a huge audience.

We greatly appreciate the symbiotic relationship with volunteers, donators, fosterers, fundraisers, adopters, refuges and transporters and of course most importantly, the Pointers themselves.

May our second year be even more successful than the first. Hopefully Pointers In Need can continue to bring much joy to all our adopters by entrusting our beautiful breed in there loving homes.” Said Claire Stokes, Co-founder and Treasurer. “It just leaves me to say a huge thank you to each and everyone involved in helping us succeed in our work, I’m truly grateful to you all.

The bulk of our income comes from our various fund raising events which have included Crufts, Beach Parties, Pointerfest, online auctions throughout the year, the sale of goods through our shop, the collection of old stamps, and of course, your fantastic and really appreciated cash and prize donations.

Heartfelt thanks to Claire Stokes for managing these events. A lot of time and effort goes into each one. I must also take this opportunity to thank the PIN volunteers, without whose continued efforts, we would not be able to achieve as much – so thank you to Andrew Everett, Emma Todd, Karen Tregaskis, Clare Harvey, Kate Linay and Ros Fontana.” Commented Jan Britton, Chairperson.
